After the cut to gameplay from the intro scene, the player is put into the mystery that Fred’s cousin, Jed, and his work crew have gone missing. gang finds themselves in a new place with a new mystery, and Scooby-Doo! Unmasked is no different. As many developers attempt to make games as realistic as possible, A2M focused on the cartoon aspect of Scooby-Doo and embraced the visuals it already was loved for. The cartoon style characters, and environment is not lost, but only embraced in this game. The art style is surprisingly good for 2005, especially to be a kid’s game, as these usually get much less attention and effort. Without a cut that stands out, the developer did a great job of making the game feel less of a game and more of a gateway to the Scooby-Doo universe. With little details going a long way, A2M kept this in mind, when transitioning the theme music and cut scene seamlessly in a spooky atmosphere where the player and their character resides.
